Athens, Ga. – WUGA 91.7 / 97.9 FM will celebrate its
birthday this year with its live variety show “Once in a
Blue Moon,” scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 28, at 7 p.m. in
Masters Hall at the Georgia Center for Continuing
Education. The radio station is 18 years old this year, and
this is the eleventh “Blue Moon.”

The program will feature music by the Artie Ball Swing
Band, Fred Mills and the Bulldog Brass Society, the
Lighthouse Gospelettes, Christian Lopez, and the Splitz.
The Town and Gown Players will present a one-act play by
Chekhov.

Tickets are $15 and are available at Homeplace in Five
Points, Native America Gallery downtown and at WUGA’s
office in the Georgia Center. Seating in Masters Hall is
limited, and it is not unusual for the show to sell out.
Due to the requirements of a live radio broadcast, ticket
holders must be seated by 6:30 p.m.

The show will be broadcast live on 91.7 and 97.9 FM
beginning at 7 p.m.
